As you know, Dem Franchize Boys (DFB), the rap group that brough the world "White Tee" are always villified by many parts of American society, as shown below.

For one, they are seen as many Americans as people who go on rapping about drugs. America is currently fighting a war against drugs, so if DFB raps about drugs all the time, it would be detrimental to America's interests IF DFB becomes popular. So MTV and BET and whatsoever hip-hop TV stations do not play DFB's songs in proportion to their fame and value, hence they do not get the societal recognition they are supposed to have, thanks to the intervention by media and government. They didn't realise that drugs are not as important as compared to the violence they caused and encouraged, as well as the alcoholism, the gals, the whatsoever social problems... Don't you all once sponsored drugs? But no matter what, I never support illegal drugs, I don't smoke or drink or even date...

For two, I would like to say this clear --- DFB don't kill hip-hop. They have revolutionised their field. Of course, it is best to have the nicest form and the nicest substance in all raps, like the raps originated in New York (northeast). The raps with the 2nd nicest styles are in the West. The Midwest have raps with the 2nd nicest substance. Perhaps the South, home of the most African Americans and the most Cuban/Caribbean Americans are temporary laggards in rap and hip-hop, as they have rural forms of soul and R&B music (not urban music like hip-hop!) but finally they compressed the essence of hip-hop to the bare minimum of style and substance. DFB make their raps simple and groovy. This kills almost everyone else's ideas and aspirations of making more good rap tracks, this kills hip-hop... moguls that inhibit more flow of ideas and information in the world.

For three, I must say, people should know from the start that we should extract the best from the best. The guy who is caught with marijuana should be respected as the person who pioneered catchy snap music. The guy who is shot for shooting another person should also be respected for his bare truth messaged through his raps. And not all rappers are convicts or gangsters (heard of Talib Kueli or Kayne West, the intellectual rappers?) or even if many rappers are indeed gangsters, at least, I say at least, at least one, like Tupac is at least intellectual in exploring life's purpose beyond drugs and violence.

And don't you think that rappers are almost all marginal people? Most rappers are African Americans, Latinos or even Asians (Jin, Mike Shinoda and the likes). Very few rappers are Anglo-Saxon. Even Eminem is a Scottish American, the Beastie Boys are suburban middle-class Jewish (sigh) and there are also Irish American rap groups around. Not Anglo-Saxon.

I am a marginal person too, excluded from the society for the 'prestige' and whatsoever.

If people are divided into classes, there would be only 3 classes (as in any other major classification of everything happening in the world), they being:

(1) Upper class, who has the influence to influence the members' nations, politically, socially, educationally, religiously and maybe culturally. So far, the best rapper I can think of in the upper class happens to be the CEO of Def Jam Records (as for today. He will leave his post by December 31, after serving 3 years), Jay-Z. He yield the most power in hip-hop in the world for now. Their main assets are IDEAS to POWER the world. They have the power reach to their fullest potential.

(2) Middle class, who can only expect to live as comfortably as possible within their means. They can meet their basic living needs, but they are helpless to make the decisions for the world. In short, they cannot reach to the fullest of their potentials. The representative of a middle class raapper will be R.A. the Rugged Man, who is notorious but neither rich nor poor. Practical skills are the be-all and end-all of middle class folks.

(3) Lower class, in which DFB represents (but does not belong, defnitely). The lower class can't live within their means, so...

A rap by the middle class folks from the Bay Area, to be more specific, lower/middle- middle class...
